Regular membership is open to any person (a) who is a graduate of an accredited law school or who has, by reading and studying the law in an attorney's office, been entitled to take a bar exam in any state and who resides in Massachusetts or
(b) who has been admitted to membership in Massachusetts State Bar and who has paid dues for the fiscal year.
Associate membership is open to any person (a) who is an active law student or is attending an accredited law school, or (b) who is a current law reader in Massachusetts and (c) who has paid dues for the fiscal year.

Please note the WBA's new By-Law pertaining to Law Student Members:
Any current law student is eligible to become a Law Student Member of the Association upon filing a written application and making payment of the requisite amount of dues for the current year. Law Student Members shall be entitled to all privileges and benefits of the Association, except that they may not serve a as member of the Board of Directors or as an Officer of the Association.
